Welcome! I am an Associate Professor of Health Outcomes & Biomedical Informatics (HOBI) at University of Florida. An Industrial-Organizational Psychologist by training, my mission is to improve patient safety and healthcare quality by increasing healthcare professionals’ individual and team performance. I have over 100 scholarly works (peer-reviewed manuscripts, academic presentations, scientific posters, book chapters, and invited talks) in these areas. To understand whether interventions are impactful, they must be measured and evaluated. While I also utilize qualitative methods such as interviews and observations, I most enjoy working with surveys. I rely upon a strong psychometric foundation from my psychology training to support the development and validation of self-report scales for numerous projects — from infection prevention, to assessing surgeons’ knowledge, to training evaluations.
